Essential Documents (Both Partners)

Nepali Citizenship Certificate (рдирд╛рдЧрд░рд┐рдХрддрд╛) Required

Original citizenship certificate with 2 photocopies for each partner.

Unmarried Certificate (рдЕрд╡рд┐рд╡рд╛рд╣рд┐рдд рдкреНрд░рдорд╛рдг рдкрддреНрд░) Required

Certificate from your local Ward Office confirming unmarried status. Valid for 3 months from issue date.

Passport-size Photographs Required

6 recent passport-size photos per person (white background, formal attire).

Birth Certificate or SLC Marksheet Required

For age verification. SLC/SEE certificate with date of birth is acceptable.

Conditional Documents (If Applicable)

Divorce Certificate (рд╕рдореНрдмрдиреНрдз рд╡рд┐рдЪреНрдЫреЗрдж рдкреНрд░рдорд╛рдг рдкрддреНрд░) If Previously Married

Court-issued divorce decree if previously married. Must be final, not pending.

Death Certificate of Former Spouse If Widowed

Official death certificate from the municipality/VDC if previous spouse is deceased.

Parental Consent Letter If Under 21

Written consent from parents/guardians if either party is under 21 years of age.

Migration Certificate If Address Changed

If your current address differs from citizenship, provide migration certificate from Ward Office.

Witness Requirements

Two Witnesses Required

Two adult witnesses (age 20+) with valid citizenship certificates. Can be friends or family members.

Witness Citizenship Copies Required

Photocopies of both witnesses' citizenship certificates.

How to Get Unmarried Certificate from Ward Office

Step 1: Visit your local Ward Office where your citizenship is registered.

Step 2: Fill out the application form for "Abibaahit Praman Patra".

Step 3: Submit citizenship copy and 2 passport photos.

Step 4: Pay the nominal fee (NPR 100-500 depending on municipality).

Step 5: Collect certificate same day or next working day.
